Jen Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Q3. (Colossians 1:28-2:1) What is the purpose of Paul's labors according to verse 28? What does "perfect in Christ" mean? How does Paul accomplish this goal? In what way is he "struggling" for them? Paul wanted to present them perfect (mature) in Christ. He didn't want to just bring people to a saving knowledge of Christ and leave them there the same way. He wanted maturity (perfection) for His Lord and for the saints. He wanted the body of Christ which is His church to reflect the Head which is Christ. Paul was not content with presenting a half-baked mess. What does "walk before me and be holy mean?" I think it means genuine sincerity in being the best we can for our Lord. We will never be perfect in this world but we keep being perfected. He accomplished his goal through preaching and admonishing and through much wrestling for them in prayer. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 Quote

We cannot achieve perfection here on earth, however Paul's effort was to see that we daily grow towards perfection, towards being more and more like Christ. Paul achieved his purpose through teaching, preaching publically and proclaimeing the Word of Truth, the Word of God wherever he went and also counseling people in groups or one to one. Paul struggle was through praying relentlesly for the Church. Quote
