janel
Q4 Paul is trying to tell the Colossians that if they have Christ, they have the treasure. For Christ is full of wisdom and knowledge and these are to be passed on to His followers. To know Him intimately and fully is to posses all these treasures. As faithful believers of Christ, we are privilege to posses these treasures handed down to us through Christ our Lord.
Patricia A
Q4. (Colossians 2:2-3) **In what sense are "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" hidden in Christ? Knowing Christ and His purpose for us unlocks all the secrets of the world. This is the ultimate wisdom. **What does that mean? Paul's ultimate goal is that the Colossian believers might know Christ in his fullness and understand enough to appreciate who Christ really is. Paul is aware that for people to understand Christ at a deeper, spiritual level, they need to have hope (thus encouragement) as well as an experience of a loving Christian community ("knit together in love"). Thus it is extremely difficult for social hermits and lone-ranger Christians to really grasp Christ. He can only be understood in the presence of love. With these can come complete25 understanding. pickledilly
Thanks, Rod. I am really not "feeling the love" in my church body right now. It is very discouraging. Sorry to hear of your discouragement, Jean. The love among us sometimes seems to ebb and flow, doesn't it? When a congregation is in harmony, our enemy is always ready to stir up something, I think. May the LORD bless and strengthen you with His joy and peace, and with faithful LOVING co-laborers in Christ!

linda bass
"All the treasures of wisdom or knowledge" are hidden in Christ in the sense that they are found in Him alone.Wisdom and knowledge are not just special privileges passed on secretly to the elite. This means that Paul is talking about more than just a mental grasp of Christ. In order to understand Christ,we need to go to a deeper spiritual level. One way to do this is by becoming part of a Christian fellowship where the members love the Lord.
haar
By "all treasure of wisdom" Paul is saying that wisdom and knowledge are found in Christ himself and Christ alone. This means that to know him intimately and fully -- the privilege of all Christian believers -- is to possess the full treasure-house of God's wisdom and knowledge, Christ Himself. WALT39
Q4. (Colossians 2:2-3) In what sense are "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" hidden in Christ? What does that mean? Colossians 2:2-3 - 2My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Christ has all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. As Christians, we can receive that wisdom and knowledge from Jesus by believing in Him. We must be careful who are our teachers since we must hear the Word. In 1 Timothy 3: 14-18, "14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." When we are fully equipped, we will have revealed to us all of the treasures.

Highohfaith
(Colossians 2:2-3) In what sense are "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" hidden in Christ? What does that mean? Paul wrote "in whom (Christ) are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:3 ALT) You won't find the wisdom and knowledge of Christ in wordly treasures, or studies, this is a "heart" knowledge, a condition of the soul. They are hidden in Christ and we must be fully enveloped into Him if we are to have this treasure. Paul wrote: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. But we speak wisdom among them that are mature: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto [into] our glory: (1 Corinthians 2:5-7 KJV) When we rest in Christ, His wisdom and knowledge can pour into and through us.
